Angel City Celebration Dec 12th Sat 8 AM – 4 PM

Join T.H.E. for free health screenings and more at the
2016 Angel City Celebration, led by Rotary Club of Los Angeles (LA5) in partnership with Rotarians across Rotary District 5280, and the County of Los Angeles. This major event brings together city, county, community nonprofits, and volunteer groups from business and service organizations to provide a resource and health fair and festive event that will help improve the quality of life for underserved residents in South L.A.

Volunteers are needed to make this year’s celebration a success. Currently, Rotary Club of Los Angeles is looking for 400 volunteers who will be deployed at the event to help stage the event, pass out toys, books to the children, serve food, coordinate logistics, check people in, take photos and video, and more.

What Will Happen at the Angel City Celebration?

Angel City is an inclusive event, all residents welcome, however mostly programs are designed to serve 3,500 to 4,000 children from age 5 to 10 and their families.

The Celebration will include a variety of fun activities and entertainment for both kids and adults. Angel City offers a safe environment for families live in South LA to enjoy a fun-filled day in the park.

3,000 early birds attendees will enjoy the Pancake Feast, prepared and served by volunteers.

The Celebration’s Resource Fair will focus on gang prevention, empowering parents with information on after-school enrichment programs on sports, academic and healthy living.

A Health Fair will provide general wellness check-ups with blood tests, medical specialty consultations and prevention information to youth and family members. Mobile clinics for vision, dental, hearing and general wellness check-ups will be on-site.

The Book Fair will open the eyes of youth and children to the joys of reading, with stories, pictures and facts. The L.A. County Library Department and Molina Foundation will supply the books.
Watt’s Farmer Market will join Rotarians in offering fresh organic fruits and vegetables.
